Actor, Journalist, Storyteller
About me...

While working as both a producer and committed journalist, I continued to perform locally and professionally, often working with the oldest and largest local theater in the state of Iowa, The Des Moines Community Playhouse. Through a number of roles I was fortunate enough to play, I received several individual and show-wide nominations for the Cloris Leachman Excellence in Theatre Arts Awards. I recently made the decision to relocate to Chicago, and am currently in search of my next opportunity both personally and professionally.
I am a Regional-Emmy winning journalist, passionate performer and dedicated storyteller.
I graduated from Iowa State University summa cum laude with honors, earning separate degrees in Journalism & Mass Communication, as well as Performing Arts with an emphasis in acting, directing and musical theatre. While enrolled, I earned national recognition in musical theatre, both onstage and behind the scenes. My role as cinematographer on the school's entirely livestreamed production of "Songs For a New World" received multiple awards from Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.
Straight out of college, I turned a production internship at Iowa PBS into a full-time contract position as a producer, videographer, and editor. While there, I produced multiple broadcast stories for Iowa PBS alongside other exceptionally talented public servants.
From there, I made the transition to local journalism, working as a news producer at Local 5 News in West Des Moines. I was responsible for a minimum of seven shows each week, serving as producer for the nightly 6 p.m. news, as well as all evening weekend shows. I developed my skills quickly, co-chairing our election night broadcast and eventually became the lead-producer of the now Emmy-winning news special "Greenfield Strong: One Year Later."
